the licensed portable version loads with uvk logo instead of branded in windows xp media center edition...

Thanks for reporting. I've been improving the licensing functions, and the next build should work fine for all windows versions.
One thing we humans have in common is that we are all different. So, if you think you're weird because you're different from everyone else, then we are all weird.
