[Fixed] UVK Bug Fix Windows Update

Come across fix Windows update bug, where when executed Windows update is not activated -

If Windows update has issues, using this fix does not deactivate Windows update.
Tested on 2 Windows 7 pcs. Both same outcome for repairing Windows updates.

Okay. Windows 7 has Windows Updates disabled - possibly due to incorrect setup or malware impact.

When using UVK to enable Windows Update & begin automatic downloads again - The UVK fix isn't actually working.

Windows update is still disabled - Automatic updates are activated, but the actual windows update service is disabled, needing to be activated again.

This is on the original program and not the beta program.

Ok, WRC. I'll make the fix ensure to enable the wauserv service. I think it already does it. Maybe the malware is disabling it again. Thanks for reporting.

I too have seen this a couple of times. UVK would not turn on the wauserv service. The thing is though, you could not go to services.msc and manually turn it on either. Its been some time since I saw the issue, and I don't remember what I did to solve it. Sorry. I will try to remember this thread if I see it again and let you all know what I did to fix it.

Brink, you probably rebooted in safe mode and manually set the Start value of the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\wauserv key to 2.

I wouldn't doubt it. I'm no stranger to safemode or manual registry edits.
