Thanks WRC. I'll test this out and post back later.

Super frustrating, same issue is happening on windows vista, my tools.data file is not working, displays blank page.
Works on windows 7. 8, but not xp or vista,
need to delete the tool.dat file and use just the default you made for it to work again.

I'm sure fred will figure it out, just give him some time :) The new info might help him track down the issue though.

So,tts_tools.dat file appears to be working (TTS_TOOLS.dat file is the one that stores all my configurations and not the settings.data file right?).. On XP, But when I send the TTS_Tools.data file to the windows vista,7,8,10 OS it displays a blank screen, appears to display this when the TTS file was modified on windows XP.
I use windows xp on vmware on my mac to create the TTS tools database since its lightweight.
I will create a video for you.

WRC you should not edit the database files using a text editor, or you will end up breaking them.

tts_tools.dat contains the default tools, and tts_settings.dat contains your personal tools and settings. If you have to copy one of them, then just copy tts_settings.dat, the file itself, not the text. Leave tts_tools.dat alone.

I never tested on vmware, but I did test on virtualbox, and it worked just fine. I ran TTS, modified some settings, created a few tools, and then copied the whole Tech tool store tools folder to my windows 10 desktop.

All worked just fine. That is how you should do, copy the whole folder and it should work fine too.

Best regards.

Oh, and as a side note, you should always copy the folder after TTS is closed, never while it is running.

Anyway, that's not how TTS is supposed to work. TTS should be used either in a portable storage device such as a pen stick, or a network storage device, such as a NAS. Write access is always required. This way you just need to access the same device from other machines, you don't need to copy anything.
