I used forced uninstall on iobits uninstaller and after a reboot almost all of it was still there. Ideas?

i see a lot of customers have IOBits programs installed.
What's your view?
I just advise to uninstall due to the program being of poor rating, causes more issues then resolves etc etc.
Is it classified as crapware, or junkware, or anything?

At the very least I see IObits as unnecessary but, I'm not sure I would outright call it spyware/crapware.
I just like computers to be as clean as possible so I remove almost all questionable tools.

Hey guys. I'll install IOBIT uninstaller in a VM and let you know what's up with it.

Oh, smart guys... They are setting the "InstallLocation" property with the path of the uninstaller executable, and not the program's folder as they should. This will be fixed in the next update. Thanks for reporting.

This crapware does not uninstall by normal means either. Not with the Windows ad-remove applet nor with UVK's Smart uninstaller. The uninstaller runs, asks for confirmation, we click Yes and nothing else happens. So I would say it is malware, since it does not let people remove normally.

If Bill hadn't given that reason, I would have. I won't touch nor recommend ioBits to anyone.

Given the new info, that for sure sounds like crapware. There is no good reason to "hide" like that. I have an idiot customer that keeps putting it on his computer and saying I'm not cleaning it........ ugh!
