Reset IE and internet settings crashing.

Post by wmmiller »

UVK beta version 7.2.13.0 Reset IE and internet settings keeps crashing (UVK has stopped working) after checking the delete personal setting check box, then clicking the reset button and then crashes right after clicking the close button. I hope this made sense.

Fred,

Don’t waste time on this. After a check disk and reboot it seems to work just fine.

Fred,

I had this exact issue tonight on a Windows 7 Ultimate x86 SP1 and a Windows 7 Professional SP1 (32 bit) OEM. It’s at the close button as I said in the first post.

I finally managed to reproduce this. It happens in a win 7 SP1 32 bit VM. I have another VM with a Win 7 SP1 32 bit clean install and it doesn't happen. Weird. I'm working on it now. I couldn't make it happen in any 64 bit system so far.

I found and fixed the bug. It was actually related with my forced file removal feature, and was happening, like you mentioned, after clicking the Close button, when deleting the temporary internet files. It could happen randomly in other file removal features, such as deleting temporary files. It doesn't seem to happen too often, but it was still very annoying.

Thanks for reporting this. I will release a new beta today, with the issue fixed.

Update to 7.3.2 should fix the issue. If you guys don't mind to try it out, it's appreciated.

Fred,

I just tried version 7.3.2 twice on the same Windows 7 Ultimate x86 SP1 it crashed on last night and it worked flawlessly. Thanks! :D
