Water mark

Post by Charger440 »

I'm not sure if it's the intended use or not but when I mark "start with Windows" the water mark opened back up automatically when ran UVK again but not when Windows booted.

It actually say’s “start Desktop Water Mark Automatically” not start with windows. So I think it is working as intended. I know, details, details. :)

LOL Let me see....

Yeppers..... I assumed that meant with windows since I wanted it to mark windows while I was working on it and I don't have UVK running the whole time I'm working on a box....

Maybe the fact that this is working right should be addressed?

When the water mark is configured to start with UVK, it does not close when UVK closes, so you can have it running while you're not working on it.

So if I want the watermark to stay I have to make sure UVK runs each time the computer starts till I am done with the watermark or the computer?

We already discussed this. We didn't want to leave something turned on the user doesn't know how to turn off. We said the watermark would stay until the computer is turned off.

Yep I remember that but I also remember talking about making removal of the water mark part of the clean up process when the program was uninstalled so it would not be left behind.

I'll just have to remember that I have to run UVK each time I reboot if I want the watermark on the computer..

Making the Watermark start with Windows is as easy for me as making it start with UVK, maybe even easier. The question is: Which one should we use?

I would prefer it start with windows. I totally get your moral issues on that. We discussed that and I understand completely. Which is why I suggested making it part of the clean up process because I'm pretty sure all of us that in here regular don't leave it for the customer so we have to remove it. As for people that don't remove it, if they leave the watermark, it's on the main screen and the customer could remove with out too much trouble. Statistically I have no idea ho many people leave UVK installed but I know that I do not.... Mainly because the customer could really screw up the computer with UVK. In some ways it's easy to use, in other ways your average computer user should not have it.. :)

Making the water mark start with windows is a pretty convenient way to remind us that we have not yet removed UVK from the system.
