Re: kill steps recorder

HI Bill. long time.

You can block it with Execute Prevent or with file permissions. I don't know why it keeps enabling though.

Re: Quick Any2Ico: Convert a PNG file by right-click menu

anymor, I downloaded images 2 and 3 from your last post and opened them with an image editing software called Photofiltre Studio X. Zoomed both to 500% and the result is in the picture below. I do not see any difference in the size or placement. My guess is that the software you use to view icon fil...

Hi amymor. Glad you nailed it. I just saw your post and I think you had an excellent idea. I will soon integrate that feature into Quick Any2Ico itself.

Muhammad, You can also use the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor to disable the interactive login, by using the provided registry editor. Re: Un-Hide User Accounts on the Windows Login Screen

Hi Muhammad. If you can not get passed the UAC prompt, I guess you will not be able to run UVK or quick user manager either. I don't know whether Hide Users disables the accounts, or just removes the interactive login rights through LSA. The best option for you is try Offline NT Password & Registry ...

Re: The new Microsoft Edge

I don't think IE's reputation will be the worst. People using chrome will not switch easily. They have all their passwords, history, cookies and settings synced across all their devices and that's priceless. I for instance am one of those people and I don't plan to switch anytime soon even though I ...

KB4551762 also breaking user profile

OK, so now is KB4551762. Same symptoms as KB4532693 . After installing the update and rebooting, you are logged in to a temporary profile. All the user data is still in the hard drive, we only need to uninstall and hide the update so it will not be installed again, and everything will be back as it ...

Re: Minor UVKSR thing - Sticky Notes

Hi Xander. I understand what your issue is, but the application is behaving as expected. Command 1 runs only if stickynot.exe does not exist, which will work fine on Windows 7, but Command 2 is always executed, which gives the 'file not found' error on Windows 10. I suggest you create a separate app...

KB4532693 update breaking user profile

So this happened to a customer, and I thought it was an isolated case, but it just happened in one of my computers too. After installing the KB4532693 update, Windows fails to login to the current user profile, so a temporary profile is loaded. UVK/Quick user manager detect the corrupted profile and...

Bill, this is great info. I'll keep that in mind in case I ever see a broken Edge. Did you know that you can reinstall that extension from the Store?
