Start menu shortcut issues

Ok. So I have UVK installed on my system. However, I go to my start menu and notice there is no entry for uvk anywhere. I then go to C:\Programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and verify there is no UVK folder or entry. So I create a UVK folder (C:\Programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\UVK) and copy the shortcut already available in the program files directory to the newly created aformentioned directory. I check the start menu and confirm that there is a UVK shortcut present. I launch UVK. There is an available update to install, so I go ahead and initiate the update. While the update was installing, I actually had the UVK start menu folder I had created open in explorer, and after the update had been completed, the UVK folder I had created had been deleted and not recreated (that explorer session got kicked back to the C:\Programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder due to the UVK folder being deleted), forcing me to, once again, go through the exact same process I had just gone through to manually create the start menu item. I saw that there were previous posts that address this issue, but the developer had gone in and claimed that a new update fixed the issue. This post is to make perfectly clear that this issue is not resolved. I mean come on. Considering the number of advanced features available in UVK, why is creating a start menu shortcut so difficult.... :?:

Hello, Whiggs.

If you want a Start Menu entry for UVK, simply use the Installer version. The portable version does not allow Start menu shortcuts. Download and run UVKInstaller.exe and you will have your permanent Start menu folder with the shortcuts, even after any updates.

Best wishes.
