Hi, my name is Anthony and I just recently heard about UVK from Briteccomputers.com.ukl. From Brian's tutorial, UVK appears to be a very useful virus and malware tool.
However, here is my problem. I have, what some might consider a "possible" dinosaur system. My CPU is only 1.2 GHz. My video card is a NIVIDA GeForce 1200; my Sound Card is a Creative Sound Blaster upgraded from the original Sound Blaster card.
I have 3-Gig of RAM, and one Terabyte DVD and two 500 Gigabyte drives. The terabyte drive is a SATA drive connected to a SCSI internal PCI-Slot. The two 500-gig drives are standard mechanical drives.
About two years ago I replaced the old Gigabyte Motherboard which had a 1.0 Gigabyte CPU for a revision upgrade series 2 Gigabyte Motherboard which came with a 1.2 Gigabyte CPU.

All that to say this: Programs do not load at lightning speed for sure. However, when I connect to the Internet via a D-Link DIR-655 Router, my Mozilla Firefox browser page takes forever to load. I've upgraded the browser, checked for any suspicious add-ons. You name it, I have done it.

I've attempted to download Google Chrome but it says that my system is out-dated and cannot run Google Chrome.

One thing that does really bothers me is that the CPU constantly runs at 100-% without Internet or connected to the Internet. RAM usage runs about 25 to 40-percent

Deeply sorry for being so long-winded, but when I downloaded UVK and attempted to install the program, I was told that there were files missing during the download and the program had to close.

Is Ultra Virus Killer compatible with Windows XP Professional SP3? How about the required CPU requirements? Will this software word with a 1.2 GHz Processor? And if so, should I attempt to remove the version I downloaded and reload it? Please advise.

Hi Mainman407, welcome.

UVK still supports running XP SP3. The reason why it says files are missing is probably that your antivirus software must have blocked or deleted one or more files from UVK's folder.

As for your CPU running at 100%, try disabling the wuauserv (Windows Update) service. It should do the trick. XP no longer receives Windows updates, anyway.
