[Fixed] 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
I just had a bug report saying 7.8.0.1 crashes when switching to the System Info section. Is this happening to anyone else? If so, does the PC have a SSD disk?
Also, does it also crash when you run the Defragment C: fix, from the System repair section?
Thanks

Fred,
I tired both of those things on my own computer that has an SSD and it worked flawlessly. Defrag was skipped as it should be.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
No problem on my own pc (with an ssd) while switching to system info section and no problem with defragment c: neither (the test is just skipped because it is an ssd)
Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
I am having the same problem; previous stable version worked corectly. Windows is installed on a SSD and I have another one for data. I get this error:

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
7.8.0.1 loaded the system info fine for me and I do NOT have a solid state.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
Thank you all for your answers. ghandi, can you please tell when the crash takes place? Is it immediately after you click the System Info button, or is it a second or two afterwards.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
@ Fred,
I have 'getting system info, please wait' displayed for 2-3 seconds with the busy indicator spinning and then get a 'UVK has stopped working' message box displayed. This feature worked fine with 7.7.2.0.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
ghandi, I created a UVK build to help us bebug this issue. Since I can't reproduce it myself, it will help me to find out what is causing the application to crash.
If you don't mind to help out debugging this issue, please download this file:
http://www.carifred.com/uvk/UVK_debug.exe
The debugging procedure is very easy:

The debugging procedure is very easy:
- Move the file to UVK's install directory.
- Run the file, and click the System Info button.
- Post, attach or PM me the contents of the Debug.txt file, in the same directory.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
System Info working here.
Defragment C: doesn't crash but, run separately, doesn't do the confirmation window that most fixes do and then doesn't take any time before it says it's done...and that seems odd. Same with Defrag All and Optimize Boot. None pop up the confirmation window and finish immediately. Defrag & Optimize works as expected.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
Xander, if Defrag & Optimize is selected, Defragment C:, Defragment all drives and Optimize boot and shutdown are skipped, because Defrag & Optimize already does everything the other fixes do, and you wouldn't wand to defrag twice, would you? The same way, if Defragment all drives is selected, Defragment C: is skipped.

Re: 7.8.0.1 crashing on System Info section
Thanks ghandi, You've been a great help. It seem the bug was while getting the Windows product key from the BIOS.
Now, please download UVK.dll from the following location:
http://www.carifred.com/uvk/UVK.dll
Then move the downloaded file to UVK's install folder, overwriting the existing UVK.dll and run UVK to test if the issue is gone.
Thanks.

Now put out 7.8.0.2 and see if it breaks it for the rest of us
