Re: Watermark not listing CPU and Memory

Xander, please stop referring to hard drives by partition letters. It creates a horrible mess in my head. There was an issue with the index of the hard drives, which I already fixed in the system info and now I'm fixing in the desktop watermark.

No drive health shown. Shows fine in CrystalDiskInfo.
Xander, We were just talking about Fred's computer then we got to talking about Core i3 processors. I apologize for the foul play on my thread :)

Fred, I was just using the letters as a point of reference. I could have used Disk Managements numbering but then there'd be DM's "0", watermark's "0" and System Info's "0". Made better sense to use something outside of that for clarity.

OK, no problem. I'm finishing a beta which I'll upload today so you can test if it shows the correct info now.

Got 7.6.6.0 -- watermark and system info agree but there's still no health info on the watermark. Could it be some kind of out of date DLL in the folder or something? I've also just fired up a laptop on the workbench and it's also not showing its health.

Um, Fred?

What happened?

Also, I'm not sure if it's already an option or not but if it's not, can we leave "USB" drives out to reduce clutter and confusion?

I made a new file for testing, if you guys don't mind. You just have to extract to a folder and run the batch inside.

Thanks.

Looks about the same on the laptop; same on my own PC.

Fred, whatever you changed in 7.6.7.0 works. Displaying as expected now. Well, it's displaying "Status" but none are showing Work Hours. Most PCs I work with only have one drive so identifying it by model/SN isn't very important but it's progress.

Out of curiousity, if drive health is not OK, does it colour code it at all? e.g. Red for failing?

I'm no longer using WMI for HDD info retrieval. I'm only using DeviceIoControl. That allowed me to enumerate the drives in the correct order. But it seems I still can't get SMART info on some drives. If only I could get my hands in one of those drives...

It would allow me to know exactly why it is not able to get SMART info, and probably fix it.
