6.7.0.1

Post by Charger440 »

Memory (RAM) devices:
Total physical memory 4 GB (4294967296 bytes)
Memory device 0 Capacity: 4 GB Type: DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 Speed: 1600MT/s

It does give the correct speed now, however, I have 16 GB of RAM :)

Thanks for reporting, Jim. I'll have a look at it.
One thing we humans have in common is that we are all different. So, if you think you're weird because you're different from everyone else, then we are all weird.

6.7.0.2 Is still showing only one Memory device worth 4GB but at the top (Just like 6.7.0.1) it does show the full 16GB.
If there is anything you need to help figure that out let me know.

Hi Jim. The problem is that I can't reproduce the issue. Everything is working fine in all PCs I tested.

In fact, yes, there's something you can do to help me figure this out.

Download this UVK script and run it:
GetSMBios.uvk
(1.02 KiB) Downloaded 158 times
It will create two files, both in your desktop folder: SmBiosInfo.ini and SmBiosData.dat.

SmBiosData.dat will contain the raw data of your MSSmBios_RawSMBiosTables. Analyzing this file with an hex editor will help me to figure it out.

Please put both files into a zip archive and attach it to your reply.

Thanks for being willing to help. It's appreciated, really.

Jim, I found out what was wrong, thanks to your attached files.

I fixed it and made UVK load the SMBIOS data from your dat file.

Here's what I got:

Is this info correct?

Thanks again for your help.

Yep that is correct. I have 4 sticks of 4. Kinda odd for a laptop to have 4 spots ain't it :)

Yeah, not very common, but ironically mine has four memory slots too.

So, now it's fixed. I'm trying to spot more bugs, and I'll upload a new beta soon.

Thanks again for your help.
