As I said in viewtopic.php?f=10&p=4367#p4367:
Sure. Do not use HerdProtect crapware, and just ignore that page. Solved.

One thing we humans have in common is that we are all different. So, if you think you're weird because you're different from everyone else, then we are all weird.

Not that I disagree with you but, why do you consider here protect crapware Fred?
Jim
It is not "Can it be done?" but rather, "How can we do it?"

1) They don't update the AV engines' definitions daily, like VirusTotal does. I saw once they use definitions one week and more out of date. This is very bad because in one week, many things can change, many files become detected, and whitelisted. Can't be trusted.Charger440 wrote:Not that I disagree with you but, why do you consider here protect crapware Fred?
2) You can see from the TTS herd crap page that TechToolStore.exe was detected as adware by one engine over 68. And the only detection was by Reason Heuristics, an AV I never heard of. Now anyone can see that's a false positive. Still they claim the file is adware, as are all may tools, and my company is a "primary distributor of adware type software". They should only take into account files detected by more than 10% of the engines, that would make it a better tool.
3) As far as I can tell, once a file is detected, it will never become white listed. That's very bad too, because false positives will never clear out. And those stupid pages will remain there forever.
Enough arguments? Using their tool will certainly detect most malware, but it will also give you so many false positives, that you'll probably wish you hadn't used it.
