Question about new Ultra Adware Killer

Post by rocky123xo »

I just was curious about the new UAK update that adds malware scanning. Who's definitions is it using? Are they all done by you, Fred? Or did you license them from another AV company? Just curious as to how well I should check the infections for false positives.
Thanks!

Hi rocky123xo.

Guess I forgot to reply to this one too... Anyway, UAK uses a maware definitions database I've been creating over the years. When online, it also uses the VirusTotal services. However, in that case a file is only considered unsafe if it has more than 3 AV detections.
One thing we humans have in common is that we are all different. So, if you think you're weird because you're different from everyone else, then we are all weird.
