Re: iTunes Windows 10 glitch
This website is how you get the box to hand type the information in. The old iTunes used to be able to access a website and get the data automatically. Do they not do this anymore?

Network monitoring and diagnostics
I'm currently learning how to use a popular open source network diagnostics software. Does anyone know if UVK comes with such a feature?

This is true. Windows was said to be a rip off of the OS he was helping Steve Jobs build. He also stole the mouse idea from Jobs.

iTunes Windows 10 glitch
If this isn't the right forum please let me know. I have a client with a windows 10 issue. Before he updated, iTunes would rip a cd to iTunes and get all the track information. Now that it's on windows 10, the "Get Info" option does not work. I've tried cleaning it, resetting the system, a...

We never stop learning especially in IT. New things are coming out daily. What do you all do to keep up on your education? I use the following website to learn things as they come out. Alison.com EDX.org Coursera.org Lynda.com The first three are free online learning sites. EDX and Coursera are open...

I don't know a lot about programming but I like the idea. I'd say let Fred roll with it and see what he comes up with.

Re: Disk Wipe - Not Os
Ccleaner will wipe free space, which is the part of the hard drive that houses things that were deleted but waiting for something to over write it. This process can take up to 12 hours to do in most cases depending on the data. I wonder though if you removed the UAC profile for that client would it ...

Sorry I just read this. I was under the impression that Security Essentials and Defender were the same thing. SE just replaced Defender. Is that not correct?

Associations and Expos
I'm looking to get more involved in the IT industry as a whole, and wonder what you all do.
I'm already a member of ACRBO. Are there any other associations you all belong to? What about conferences and expos. I know about CES, but is there anything else you guys attend?

Re: What services to you offer?
I'm also an authorized reseller for Cabonite as well, but that's not a service I do myself.
I'm also hooked up with Gillette (spelling is wrong I know) to do data recovery on non working drives. I can do data recovery on working drives, as well as iOS devices in house.

Re: Yumi
I was looking at Yumi a while back when I wanted to put the ISO's of OS installs on my flash drive and make them bootable. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, but it wasn't working for me. I will take another look.

No sound after Windows 10 upgrade
Recently got a call from a client about upgrading to Windows 10. After he did, his sound card did did not work. He got the message "No Output device was installed". It took me a while and a few failed attempts but I fixed it. I thought I would share here how I fixed it so others might also...

Love the idea. I just posted something in Help that would fit perfectly in there. Learned a new command for CMD and thought it would come in handy for others.

Corrupt file repair
Tonight I got a tough computer that would not load anything. I couldn't run any sort of updates and I couldn't solve the issue with SFC. It kept telling me that SFC found corrupt files but could not fix them. Here's when I did. I opened CMD in Admin mode. Type: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image / RestoreH...
