Would you happen to be adding a package with provisions for running under a pre-installation environment? Don't mean to hijack your thread but...

Re: Board will not keep time

That is a weird one. Maybe it missed the memo and thinks it's a HAL 9000 from 2001. I would not let it near any POD bay doors.

Reload the firmware. Find the latest Bios for it and flash it.

TTS Classic Shell Installer Fails

When installing classic shell from Tech Tool Store to windows 8.1 and Automation is checked... (have not tried other windows versions) The installer reports that parameters are missing or required.

Hello Binkz1337. You will find that the author of UVK (Fred) is a great guy that has passion about his software and takes your input about it to heart. He has gone above and beyond again and again. You will not find a more personable or reachable software author. We all appreciate what he does for u...

Re: Network people

New wire like Fred indicated. Also test the new wire coiled with both ends near the router to eliminate the possibility of RF interference that may be found on the actual run length. It it works fast coiled but does not when installed then it must be interference along the run. If the coil is slow b...

Re: IE and 2Browse do not work but Chrome and Firefox do.

I seen this problem like 8-10 times since windows 7 came out. Not real often. When it happens it takes me a long time to figure out what the problem is being as it's such an obscure thing. Since the procedure fixes the problem and has such little risk of messing something up I think it would be a ni...

IE and 2Browse do not work but Chrome and Firefox do.

I posted this here so I can find it easy in case I need it in the future or if it will help someone else. This solved my IE not working problem when the "Fix IE and the windows shell" did not. Maybe it could be added as a fix in the repair section. Taken from http://www.sevenforums.com/bro...

Re: Update does not require password that was set in previous version

Fred, No sir. No UVKSettings.ini file. I'm using the Portable version. Please just ignore this issue for now. It's not really a big deal. I will do testing to try to determine what is actually going on. I'm just backed logged with work right now. I'll post back here when I figure out how it happens....

Re: Update does not require password that was set in previous version

It does not require the password to continue or to re-run the application. Also the running protection password is unchecked and has to be rechecked and a new password set to re-enable the feature.

Update does not require password that was set in previous version

I don't know when this started because I've been out of work for about a month and a half with severe back pain. At some point over the last few updates, new versions (Currently 7.8.1) that have been applied to a system that has an older version no longer require the password to run. In otherwords: ...

Re: Now that UVK autoupdates....

A simple right click and show properties on the desktop icon also reveals the program path and hence the name. Plus the UAC dialog when you start the program tells you. I never leave it either except on mine. And Fred is right - We don't want them to know what the program really is.
