Re: When updating an SR, update all UVKSRs in that folder
That'll work just fine And a simpler fix for it.

When updating an SR, update all UVKSRs in that folder
I've got several UVKSR files that I use -- quick tuneup, disinfection, repair, and the 'master' UVKSR. Sometimes I find a better set of command line parameters for a program or they change their download link or whatever and I have to edit the SR and then "save highlighted to..." It could ...

Re: Looking for Bond info
Just basic business insurance covering loss from fire/etc. and to protect them in case I should lose data and so on. Malpractice, basically.

Re: Looking for Bond info
I've only had about two people ask ever. To them I replied that I am not bonded but I am bondable, in that I have gone through criminal record checks (for other jobs) and am squeaky clean. I also point out that I am insured and that was enough for one of those two.

SR: "update windows" not stopping
Recently added it into my usual UVKSR set. I'm sure it's doing something but there's not really any way to be sure so I've ended up cancelling it. On the PC in front of me, I hit "cancel current" 10 mins ago but it's not cancelling. [EDIT: After ~30 minutes, the cancellation finally happen...

Re: Portable version.
I'm missing something. What's the point of using the portable version if you're installing it? It belies the reasoning behind it being portable in the first place.
To install, what's wrong with the installer?

Re: Minor SFX issue
It happened first on a remote PC and, later, on my host PC. I haven't been able to recreate it since.
Wouldn't 'remnants' have made it more likely that the licensing info/etc was present, not missing?

I'm troubleshooting what might be a minor issue. Seems like sometimes it decompresses without its license/branding but the next time it doesn't. Looking for a pattern....

Re: Spinning up a CD Cleaner automatically for a set time
Hitting a dead end. Found "status cd media present" but if I push its contents to a MsgBox or to the clipboard, it comes back empty with or without a CD in the tray.
Maybe an easier option is to have it look for the Escape key while the tray is open with _IsPressed

Re: Spinning up a CD Cleaner automatically for a set time
Got it working. About the only thing I'd change would be the MsgBox -- if I'm popping the CD in manually, I'm almost certainly give the tray a bump to close it. Could it auto-detect when the tray has closed? <UVKCommandsScript> <AutoItScript> Global Const $__HWINMM = DllOpen('Winmm.dll') _mciSendStr...

Re: [SOLVED]Silent Update UVK?
Odd. Ran the same command earlier (from the MRU in the Run box) and kept an eye on the running processes. This time, it loaded uvkportable which started up uvk_en and then disappeared. I'll assume it checked for an update. Nothing was different in the command used to run it. Regardless, it's working...

Re: [SOLVED]Silent Update UVK?
Fred, is there an equivalent for the portable version? tried it and it just loaded as normal. It doesn't need an update but there was no sign that it checked.

Re: SFX maker ... run by CMD line?
I was making the SFX originally with Winrar but have been switching over to UVK's own version. After posting this, I did find this compressor (http://74.cz/en/make-sfx/index.php) which not only has command line support but will generate the command for you. The only downside is that it doesn't have ...

SFX maker ... run by CMD line?
Whether using the Winrar version or the newer SFX generator, every time there's a new UVK version, I have to recreate the SFX over again. Not the end of the world but I'd love to be able to have my 'remote host' PC be able to run a scheduled task each night to auto-update the Portable version on my ...
