Re: Tech tool store
I have only good things to say about this. Making this for us is much appreciated. Just curious though, why do it as a separate app and not as a third party tools panel in uvk?

Re: Tech tool store
Fred,
I like it. This is a very convenient way to do many things.
I'll play with this and let you know what I find out. Thanks.

Re: Get a Free License for MiniTool Power Data Recovery Pers
I use Active@Uneraser to recover files from damaged, deleted, or formatted disks. Check it out if you need a good app for this and cant afford the $499 but need to recover more than 1gig.

Re: Request: Set power profile to an always on state.
 I guess I just never occured to me to leave the UVK running while using other AV scanners (like avast, AVG, avira or whatever else that the client likes, already has installed and uses). This would generally be the last step in a cleanup. It's like egg on the face when you clean one up, then...

Fred, I can't sing enough praises about how awesome your program is. But historically of the biggest pains in my behind when repairing a pc has been that I have left the office at night and left some clients pc turned on and running antivirus scans. I'm expecting that in the morning when I return, t...

Re: Researching purchase
I usually roll all that up into a self-extracting .rar that auto-runs the UVK after extraction. Then, I FTP that to my utilities folder on my website which is password protected. This way I have the UVK online for download already licensed and ready to use. It is in my own private webspace the some ...

JRT
Hello, I use a small DOS program called JRT (Junkware Removal Tool). It acts similar to AdwCleaner but has no fancy interface or options to enable or disable what it removes. It does produce a report of what it removed and the report is very much like Adw's report. It always seems to find junk that ...

Re: Dcom server process launcher fails on windows 7... HELP
Fred, As you pointed out, the fault is in the WBEM folder permissions on my installation. I just wanted to let folks know this and that on a botched WMI & System Restore repair on a system where Dcom failed error on boot now exists, replacing the WBEM folder with one obtained from a good install...

Definitely worth the money to buy the licensed version.
I am a computer tech in Pensacola, FL USA and I repair anywhere between 10 and 30 systems per week. 90% of what I do is remove virus and spyware/malware infected files. Ultra Virus Killer has simplified my job immensely. I used to spend large amounts of time digging in the registry and finding infec...

Re: Dcom server process launcher fails on windows 7... HELP
BTW... I got the 6.5.1.0 update and that did not resolve the problem. It looks like nobody owns or can write to WBEM like you said. Thanks again for looking into this. P.S. sorry I disappeared over the weekend. I forgot to mention that I do this Monday thru Friday and I'm usually not following compu...

Re: Dcom server process launcher fails on windows 7... HELP
Fred, Hope you had a good Fathers Day. I have included properties window snapshots of all users for folder wbem. Using to properties dialog I am unable to change any permissions for any users. When I hit the EDIT Button all the check boxes are greyed out when I try. From What I can remember that is ...

Re: Dcom server process launcher fails on windows 7... HELP
Hello again, My installation disk is HRM_CCSA_X86FRE_EN-US_DV5 and I did slip service pack one in with RT7lite that I got from the authors website before it went down a couple years ago. I have created logfiles while testing the fix with the Microsoft sysinternals component called process monitor. Y...

Re: Dcom server process launcher fails on windows 7... HELP
Sorry but my vm still presents the error after running the beta fix. I restored to clean first and ran only the "Fix the WMI & the System Restore"' The video demonstrating my issue is ready and can be found at http://isurf2.com/support/dcomerror.avi Unfortunately it doesn't stream. You...

Re: Dcom server process launcher fails on windows 7... HELP
Fred, I have seen this issue 4 times in the wild on customer machines that I was trying to repair. So far my only recourse has been to reinstall windows. I didn't know exactly which "fix" was causing the issue till I installed on virtualbox where I could use vbox snapshots to recover the p...
