Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon

@Jim Thanks a million. This one saved me again. @Fred Is there no way to integrate this feature into the Quick user manager? I can inject a new user - or - at times there will already be another user - or - the admin can be enabled. Then I can leverage this user to effect the registry changes that J...

Re: New tool: SyncAll Backup

Your SyncAll Backup is pretty nice. Do you use Total Commander? These features are built in. http://isurf2.com/pics/TCM%20sync.JPG TC is my go to program for all kinds of file manipulation. It does what SyncAll does plus regular file copy and FTP. There are tons of plugins that allow it to do almost...

Re: Apple discussion

The problem I have, is if Apple was readily working with the FBI they would not need to go before a judge and try to force Apple to create a backdoor which should not be needed in the first place. If apple were readily working with the FBI and it were found out by the public it would kill their bus...

Re: Apple discussion

The FBI does not really need the cooperation of Apple to retrieve the contents of the phone. But why not ask (court order them) to see if they will make it easy. When they refuse then of course it makes for a news story. And then the FBI has to go to work cracking the phone. They will take the thing...

Re: 7.6.6 watermark

Apparently I only thought that I had downloaded 7.6.8 when I just re downloaded 7.6.7. I don't know how that happened. You pointed out that 7.6.8 was available and then I went to the beta page and D/Led the portable version. Maybe I had a cached page or something because when I ran it I just assumed...

Re: 7.6.6 watermark

Thanks guys. Brink, do you mind to extract and run the batch file inside the attached zip? It will create a text file named DesktopWatermark debug dump in your desktop folder. Please run the batch several times, at large intervals, and then post the contents of the DesktopWatermark debug dump text ...

Re: 7.6.6 watermark

Yes sir. I got that. Thanks for pointing that out. And actually 7.6.8 shows no work hours on this machine either. Did previous betas like 7.6.6 show that long number string like it did for me?\ Edit: Still behaving as before with sometimes no hours shown and sometimes long string. http://isurf2.com/...

Re: 7.6.6 watermark

Thanks Fred. (That was 7.6.7) Go to bed! What time is it over there? How many sleepless nights have you spent taking care of our nitpickings?

I'm sure I speak for us all when I say: We appreciate you and thanks for all that you do.

Re: 7.6.6 watermark

I thought maybe you would also like to know that sometimes it shows nothing for hours.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to mention that before. Sorry

7.6.7 Not fixed yet. :( Not like it really matters though unless it has become a challenge that all the fibers of you being must rise up and meet. Re: UAK right click context menu

Yes sir. I'm very happy with UVK lately. The 7.6 version is awesome. I did notice the 7.6.2 Beta this morning but have not tried it yet. I'll use the autoruns feature of UVK in the meantime. Thanks

UAK right click context menu

Would it be possible to add to the context menu of Ultra Adware Killer the ability to look up Autostart entries with "google the file name" and/or "Virus total lookup"? I know that it's searching the registry but the found entry points to a file. It would surely be nice to be abl...

Re: Biggest Pet Peave

The thing is that folks can piss and moan about it all they want but BIOS is MBR and will not support booting to GPT partitions. MBR supports max size of 2TB and only 4 partitions. GPT supports up to 9.44 zettabytes. (1ZB = 1 billion TB) It also supports unlimited partitions. Hard disk sizes have ou...

Re: 7.6 is Awesome!

I was under the impression that Virus Total worked from MD5 hashes and the only if the file has no hash in the database does it need to be uploaded. Am I wrong? I should be looking into that at Virus total instead of asking here. But 7.6 is still awesome. I love it. UVK is the best tool I have. Than...

7.6 is Awesome!

7.6 is awesome. I was about to roll up the 7.6 beta as my production tool. Then I noticed 7.6 had been released as product. Nice job. All your hard work is appreciated. Thanks :D
