Re: Error when downloading MBAM
Hey, George, How're you doing? The Malwarebytes website doesn't give you a download link. If you click the download button, it will take you to download.cnet.com, which doesn't give you a direct download link. That's why we must use other sites. Maybe make it download from bleepingcomputer.com again...

Re: Computer running after virus removal
You're welcome Robert. I try to do my best, but I still don't dedicate as much time to the site and the forum as I should. You don't need to zip pictures to upload them, unless you don't want them to be displayed in the post. Can you please tell us exactly what happens when you try to update to the ...

Re: Error when downloading MBAM
I just tested again and it was not downloading anymore. Changed the download url to brothersoft.com. It seems that the urls at filehipo.com are temporary. Too bad. the download was fast.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Computer running after virus removal
Hi Robert. Thanks for the logs. I have an advise, though. You should never save the UVK log as a UVK commands script. You can not imagine the damage you'd cause to your system if you made UVK run that script. UVK creates the log as a text file in your desktop named UVKLog.txt. That's the log you sho...

Re: Error when downloading MBAM
Thanks fRequEnCy, You've been a great help. It should be fine now.
Please tell if it does it again, and I'll make it download from another website.

Ok, Robert, the attachments are enabled. Images will now be displayed inline.
But you'll still have to zip the log file to be able to upload it.

Re: Computer running after virus removal
Hi Robertgu.
Could we have a UVK log from your computer? It would allow us to better identify possible malware remnants and the performance problem.
See here for instructions.
Thanks.

Re: Suggestions
Ok I saw it. It may be worth to think about the 64 bits Windows archs too. If you want, you can add another script for x64:
Just a thought.
Code: Select all
<Run>
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\unins000.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES

Re: Suggestions
Well, anything is useful, scripts to repair or reset or change windows features. One feature I'm planning to add to UVK in the future is "Repair Windows native services". Normally, this should include repairing the registry entries for the services, and run sfc /scanfile="ServiceDllPa...

Thanks. Feel free to create a topic to host or post your scripts. I'll try to add the to the script collection as soon as possible. I wanted to increase the script collection, but it's not been easy, mostly because of my leak of time, but also for laziness. I love writing programs, but am not a big ...

Re: Running UVK against external hard drives only
Hi ssavoy, A bit late to reply but I'll do it anyway. Welcome to the forums. I think UVk will not be very helpful to identify malware in an offline HD. Apart using it to install/run mbam and SAS, configuring them to scan the external drive, and use the file tools in the UVK tools section to analyze ...

Re: Suggestions
Nice one, fRequEnCy! I think I'll add that one to the script collection when I have some time. @sudo, thanks for the suggestions. WSUS Offline can also be automated by a UVK script. Just use the <Download> command to download it, and <Run> or <RunWait> to execute. As far as I know, it supports comma...

Re: Tech Licence and Portable version
HI Sudo, welcome to the forums. Is there a way to keep the UVK options from computer to computer. Such as protecting it with a password. The portable version is well not so portable if I have to keep installing -.- . Interesting question. Maybe I'll add a feature to save the settings to an ini file ...

Thanks. I know. The bleeping computer url I'm using should download the latest version, but it seems they stopped updating it. I've made a work around for it in the new version.

Re: Freeze when installing Windows FixIt Center
Yes... That value prevents any autorun.inf from being executed. The enable autoplay UVK function deletes that value. but I can still delete it before installing the Fixit center. I took a look at the code, and in fact, the "freezing is not a bug. If "Unattended mode is unchecked, UVK pause...

Re: Freeze when installing Windows FixIt Center
Hi, fRequEnCy, welcome to the forums. It's nice to have other "AutoIters" here at the forum. Sorry for not having replied your introduction post, but I've been super busy with the new UVK build. So, do you know what that registry entry is? I can add a fix to that issue before releasing thi...

Re: Scan log location
Well, once you specify a location for the logs in the Automatic anti-malware scans section, it will be saved to the registry, and it will be the default location for the scans run through the scripts. if you want to change it in a script, then you will just have to change the registry value. i.e. ad...
