Do you smoke near the printer or is it located in a very dusty environment? Could be laser scanner assembly is dirty.

Front end for C++ version
Hi Fred, Sorry I've been gone so long. I like the changes that I'm seeing. I do have a request for you though. Could you write a front end for the UVK C++ version that is used to start the program correctly regardless of whether it is 32bit or 64bit? In other words a startup.exe or whatever you want...

Re: Automatically Set Homepage for all browsers to pre-defined one
However, being able to see what legit sites the browser loads most might be helpful and almost as good as just asking them. :) That's well and good if the person who is responsible for receiving and writing the order is competent to get relative information. Many PCs arrive when I'm not present and...

Re: Automatically Set Homepage for all browsers to pre-defined one
Actually, a really great feature would be for the UVK to dig through the history list of browsers, filter the results for malware sites, then remove them from the presented list ranked by most visited sites so we can make a good guess for what they want their homepage to be. Now THAT would be an awe...

Re: Automatically Set Homepage for all browsers to pre-defined one
I'll write a script to do this, no worries. Thanks. @TheLaptopFixers> Could you share the script with us when you get it ready and debuged? @ Everyone else> I'm not trying to take over customer homepages but like I said the homepage has already been hijacked by the time I get hold of one to fix. It...

Re: Web Host
Jim, Did you get this issue resolved? The HostGator that I mentioned, is pretty fast and well connect to the internet backbone. I can give you a couple of examples sites, http://appraisal-services.net and http://srccreektribe.org are both hosted by me on Hostagator shared servers. You can try theses...

The option to auto uninstall or not with forced uninstall, unattended etc could be added as options when adding to the blacklist.

Re: Automatically Set Homepage for all browsers to pre-defined one
Actually, this sounds like a great feature and by the time a customer finally gives up trying to repair it themselves the homepage is already jacked up to some adware/malware landing page anyway. Plus it should not be something that is automatically done at runtime. This would be the adware/malware ...

Well it's August 1st now and I'm just now getting around to seeing this. I had a great 4th. Thanks for wishing it. We went to Vortex Springs in Ponce de Leon, Florida. If you ever get the chance to go there, you'll have a great time too.

Re: Web Host
I'm late to read and answer this topic as you have probably already switched to a new provider. I did want to answer anyway though in case it helps someone reading the thread in the future. I have been with Hostgator for a long time. (since 2003) They have had an awesome "uptime" record. T...

Re: Removing skype ads to save bandwidth
Been doing that for years. Never thought to share it though. Actually spybot S&D's "imunize" feature sets a ton of redirect to local directives in the hosts file. Your browser starts to slow down considerably after a few thousand entries though.

Not trying to execute anything from the recycle bin. I was only trying to get you to leave the option to not use the recycle. Delete strait to oblivion. It make a speed difference on old systems of which there seems to be plenty.

Re: Here is a list.....
Please don't remove that ticks for recycle bin. Unchecking really speeds thing along on old slow systems that don't have enough RAM and have a slow Hard Disk. (Which I am seemingly plagued with having to repair) We would like for everyone to have at least 8 gigs at this point and an SSD but some fol...

Re: Windows 10 keeps resetting default apps
There are already applications that deal with the forced upgrade situation. Windows10wiwi is one such application. Also it's built into UVK already. They deal with removing and blocking certain windows updates. Given that Windows 10 is free for only another 2 weeks, do you think we will need it long...
