Re: add battery health to the the Health Check

Hi IslandPC. Sorry for the late reply. I will add battery info to the Health Check module in the next update.
Take care.

Re: WAU Manager

Oh, I see. That is perfectly doable. You see, Wau manager creates a scheduled task and specifies a /flag= argument that defines how the application should behave. For example, the following command will make WAU Manager update drivers and software every 10 days, and do not show any UI: schtasks ...

Re: New product idea

I thought of that a long ago, but since cCleaner already has that option and there are others, like dupeGuru, I just decided I'm not going to reinvent the wheel. Maybe I'll do it later when I have more time, now that everybody hates cCleaner...

Re: WAU Manager

Hi Fred. Yes, everything is on WAU Manager's Dashboard. UI mode: Quiet. Then use the provided schedule to have it updating whenever you want.

Re: UVKSR files

Hi Fred.
I just tested the Send reports by Email or FTP feature from the System repair module and it worked fine. Are you able to send the reports from the Reporting module instead?

Re: UVKSR files

Hi Fred. In System Repair, right-click the fixes list (or click the menu button). See at the end of the menu, you have an option to create an automated schedule. I think that is exactly what you need.

Re: TOS question

Hi Fred. You can buy tech OEM licenses individually, but for those you need to know the terget machine's hardware fingerprint upfront. In short terms, individually licenses are associated with a hardware id when you purchase them. Batch licenses are associated with a hardware id when you activate ...

Re: TOS question

Fred, technician oem licenses are all lifetime valid, and they behave exactly like your PRO or branding license, except cloudsync uploads are not allowed, to prevent the user of that machine from changing your synced settings.

Re: TOS question

Hi Fred. While I do allow computer technicians to leave UVK installed in their customers' machines, ideally you would join our reseller program and buy a batch of cheap licenses for that matter. Those licenses activate automatically, and are very cheap, which would let you make a significant profit ...

Re: Software updater

Hi Fred. I don't think that such tool exixts. Tech Tool Store has that fontionallity but it also is based on a list. If you want to upgrade just the Windows store apps, I can add that functionality to UVK.

Re: Bootable ISO

Hi Fred. UVK runs fine from a WinPE environment, but it will not be of much use because it lacks the ability to load a system from an external drive. You can always use the Threat scanner's custom scan feature to scan the external drive for viruses, or the Delete Files module to remove file objects ...

Re: Upload reports command line ID

reggaemanu, I added support for a new command line switch : -ReportID=ResiredReportID

Examples:

Code: Select all

UVK_en.exe -SendReports -Auto -ReportID=1234
uvk_en.exe -ImportSr "%InstallSourceDir%\SR settings.uvksr" -Auto -ReportID=1234
Will that do it for you?

Re: New technician tool: PCData Back

Thanks for letting me know about that, Fred. PC DAT Back restores all that, except for the Wallpaper, but that one is easy to add. I'm guessing the latest versions of Fabs restore many other things.

Working fine for me, Fred. If you are using UVK's System immunization, you need to temporarily disable immunizing chrome extensions to add uBlock.

Re: New technician tool: PCData Back

I've never used Fabs, but everyone says it's great and I don't doublt it. PC Data Back (the same as UVK's Backup and recovery module) restores nearly all user files, including the Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Music, Video and Application data folders. That's enough for my own repairs. Unfortunately ...
