Would you like to brand UVK with your own logo and name? Click here!

On the Welcome screen, click UVK Options. The UVK window will be displayed like the screenshot below:

On this window you can set the application preferences, open the Log analyzer, cancel system drive to be scanned on windows next boot, cancel user default registry settings to be reset on reboot, check for UVK updates, report a bug or send us a comment.

Choose the options of your choice by checking or unchecking the lines under Preferences:

Password protect running UVK: This feature is only available for users who have bought the UVK branding key. If you are one of these users, you can set a password to be asked everytime UVK is started.

UVK context menu: If you uncheck this option, the context menu (right click menu) Delete with UVK  ad File information will be deleted and you will no longer be able to get information or delete files or folders from Windows explorer using this feature.

Associate with .uvk files: If you leave checked, .uvk files created with the Log analyzer will open immediately on UVK Run Scripts window. You will only have to click Fix listed. If you uncheck this option, the .uvk file extension will be unregistered.

Desktop shortcut: Whether to have a shortcut to UVK on the current user's desktop.

Use Auto Update: If you leave checked, every time UVK is started, it will check the existence of a new version and if there is one, it will prompt you to download and install it. This will be done on the background and won't slow down the computer.

Show tooltips: Enable or disable displaying tooltips on mouse overed controls.

Always on top: Enable or disable top most attributes for the UVK's window.

After setting your preferences, click Save settings. The settings will be saved to the registry.

If you have bought a UVK branding key, you will also be able to save the settings to a ini file, which will be loaded by the UVK packages upon instal. The settings saved to the ini file will automatically be applied by the UVK install package.

Click Save to file to export the current UVK settings to a ini file. Placing the created ini file in the same path as the UVK packages will make them automatically write the settings from the ini file to the registry. This includes the UVK running protection password, the UVK preferences and settings, and the lists columns width. This feature is only available for the users who bought the UVK branding key.

Click View UVK command line help to get a full list of all the command line switches supported by UVK.

Clicking Create UVK commands script will open the Log analyzer, a text editor included with UVK and specially created to simplify the search for infected items on the UVK scan log and create UVK scripts to disinfect and repair your computer.

Click Cancel check system drive on reboot if you have scheduled your main partition to be scanned with CHKDSK for next boot from Windows or any other program and you want to cancel it.

Click Cancel Reset user defaults on reboot if you have scheduled this fix on UVK System repair screen and you wish to cancel it.
