Would you like to brand UVK with
your own logo and name? Click here! You can access all UVK features using the keyboard. This can be useful if you're trying to repair a machine which mouse doesn't work. Here's how it works: UVK setup and UVK portable: Both UVKSetup.exe and UVKPortable.exe packages use common Windows controls, which you can select select using either the Tab key or the Left / Right arrows. After selecting the desired control (button or checkbox), use one of the procedures below, depending on the type of control: Button: Pressing the Enter key when the button is selected will perform the same action as if you click it. Checkbox: Press the + key to check, the - key to un-check. ========= // ========= UVK window: The Tab key doesn't work to select the labels on the UVK window, but you can use the Left / Right arrows to select the label you wish to click, and hit Enter to execute. The label you select using the keyboard will change its color to yellow, while the mouse-overed labels become white.
This allows you to know what UVK will do if you hit the Enter key or if you just click a label. When moving the mouse over a label, the keyboard selection is automatically reset. To select items on the Process manager, Startup entries and scheduled tasks, or the Windows services and drivers lists, just press the Down key, and then use the Up / Down keys to select the line you want to manage. After selecting the desired line, you have several key combinations that allow you to perform all the actions available in the right-click menu. If the mouse isn't working, you must know these key combinations by heart, have them available in another machine, or previously make a note of them, for you won't be able to expand the menu without right clicking it. |

A good idea is to print this page, so you can have the hotkey combinations available when you need. In the sections that have input controls or text boxes, use the Tab key to toggle between these controls. So, basically, you just have to use the Tab key to switch between common windows controls, and the Left / Right arrow keys to switch between icon labels. The Esc key always goes back to the previous screen (usually the welcome screen). |
