This
section has been removed in the version 4.1. This page has only been kept for compatibility with old UVK versions, and will be removed in the future. On the Welcome screen, click Automatic anti-malware scans. UVK window will be displayed like the screenshot below:
This section automates the scans with the most wel-known malware removal programs: MalwareBytes' AntiMalware, SuperAntiSpyware, Hitman Pro, Kaspersky TDSS Killer and Combofix. The threats found with these tools can either be automatically or manually deleted. To set this option, check or uncheck Automatically delete threats found. Since Hitman Pro requires activation to delete the threats it finds, UVK will delete them automatically, you won't even have to activate the product. If Automatically delete threats found is unchecked, UVK will ask you if you want to delete those files and registry entries. |

The logs generated by the applications will be moved to a folder you select in the Repair script options GUI (see below). The default path for this folder is the current user's desktop, and the default name is: UVKAutoScansLogs. If the folder doesn't exist, it will be created. After running the selected scans, a configurable UVK system repair script will be executed, if Run system repair UVK script is checked. Click Repair script options to select the fixes you want to execute. Uncheck Run system repair UVK script if you don't want to execute any fixes. As you can see in the picture below, you can choose between more than 30 fixes to be executed after the scans. To help in your selections, we added 3 buttons allowing you to select All, or None of the fixes, or revert to the default selection. At the bottom of this window you have the option to choose where to save the applications logs. Once you choose and save a new path, it will become the default path for future scans.
You can also go to the ComboFix download page by clicking ComboFix. The combofix download url at bleepingcomputer.com is now temporary. It only lasts for ten minutes, after which it will be disabled. UVK v3 also has a link to the Kaspersky Virus removal tool. However, it's execution is not automated yet. If the Mbam, SAS, Hitman Pro and TDSS Killer packages already exist in the UVK's folder, either because they have already been downloaded or because you have put them there, UVK will just check that the present files are the latest versions. If no newer version is available or the internet is disconnected, the existing files will be used. If you're using UVK offline, and you have the third party tools packages (in a usb stick, for instance, you can copy them to the UVK's installation folder, and UVK will run them offline. However, the packages must have specific names, or UVK will not be able to identify them. the names for the packages are: MbamSetup.exe for MBAM; SASPortable.com for SAS; HtmnPro.exe for HitmanPro 3.6; and KTDSSK.exe for Kaspersky TDSSKiller. To ensure a complete disinfection and repair of an infected system, select the scan types and UVK fixes you think are adequate to the type of malware. By correctly configuring the scan and repair options you can reduce several hours of work to a few seconds. Even though UVK allows you to keep working on the machine while running the scans, it's recommended not to do anything. Dragging windows, mouse selections or double-clicks can easily prevent the success of the automation. This automation is configured to the current versions of the applications. An update of one of the programs can make the automation fail. So if it does fail, please report to us so it can be updated to the new version. To report a bug or automation failure, visit the UVK forums or the comments page.
